News Letter 021 Logistics situation in North Vietnam after big typhoon “Yagi”

Our sympathies go out to those who are still suffering from the damage caused by typhoon Yagi of last weekend.

 

Regarding to effects of big typhoon which landed in North Vietnam last weekend, here is an update current situation related to logistics.

 

Haiphong port

・In some area in Haiphong, they are still struggling from flood and power outage.

・Currently most of terminal operates while some terminal had damage with their facilities.

・However, due to operation stop for a few days of last weekend and weak internet network in some area, port has congestion with slow operation.

・There is a traffic jam around port area due to cargo concentration and fallen tree.

・Shipping schedule is basically being delayed 1 or 2 days compared to plan as of before typhoon.

・It is possible that delay situation continues for a long time and days of delay is increasing.

 

Noibai airport

・Noibai airport operation keep unchanged from before typhoon.

・There is no traffic jam around Noibai airport.

・There is no significant change/delay for air shipment schedule.

 

Hanoi city situation

・Warning is being announced that the level of River Hong is becoming higher due to typhoon and continuous rain.

・Some bridge (ex Chuong Duong Bridge and Long Biên Bridge) are being banned to cross.

・It is estimated that transportation situation is getting worse due to continuous rain after today.
